FYI OVKA spec fuel (Sunoco 110) which is sold at G&J Kartway will be now $7 per gallon as of today June 25 2008. There will be additional reminders at sign in before race #6 on Sunday June 29th.

REMINDER; If you have not paid your balance on you reserved pit spot that you are using, it will be due at race #4 June 8th. See Hal Thornton or Randy Vermillion. And if you are pitting in a reserved spot and do not own it, you will be asked to relocate you pit spot to and unreserved spot.

Entry fees for the OVKA Memorial Championship Race are $35 for the first kart entry and $30 for each kart entry after that. Plans are being made for dinner, games and dancing on Saturday night July 12th, after the Champ race qualifying has concluded. Gate fee remains $15 for Saturday and includes the meal ticket. Drivers, crew and guests arriving for just Sunday's racing will have a gate fee of $10 (same as last year).

There has been a couple of new forms added to the forms page. WKA Minor Release & Transponder Rental Form. Click on the forms link on the left side menu to download.

Also as part of the 2008 OVKA season, there will be a 50/50 Raffle with proceeds going to Track Improvement. See the 50/50 Raffle link and see who the latest winners are. Next week it could be you!!!

A few updates to the site plus a couple announcements.
1) Just updated the 2008 Pit Spot Map, click on the "Pit Spots" link at the LH menu.

2) There are many new and updated item are available on at the Classifieds page.

3) OVKA Worker age breakdown per WKA 2008 rules:
    Shows & promotions = 14 yr or older
     Clean-up Day = 8yr or older
       with parental supervision (for minors).
     Corner workers, Fuel station & Pump around
        on race day = 18yr or older
     Scale & Grid worker = 16yr or older
     Grid sheet runner = 14yr or older

4) The 2008 OVKA spec fuel will be Sunoco leaded 110 and will be available at the beginning of the race season. At the away tracks both OVKA spec fuel and the away tracks spec fuel will be permitted on that particular race day only. All races at G&J Kartway must run Sunoco sold at the track with 4oz of Blend and 4oz of Caster race oil per gallon (see rule book for more details).

FYI:
Last years OVKA Spec Fuel will be on sale at the Clean-up Day on April 5th at a reduced price of $4.50 per gallon.

Volunteers are needed to distribute OVKA promotional materials in and around your community.  Packets will be available at any OVKA event beginning April 5th.

Also we encourage anyone wanting to be on the OVKA emailing list, please email Doug Stempfley at upbeatsdj@cinci.rr.com to be included on that email list and receive future email updates about OVKA events, promotions & announcements.

The 2008 OVKA Rule Book is now available online. Just click on the "Rules" link (here or on the left side menu) to download the PDF file. It is recommended that you print a copy for your personal use, and have it at the track on race days.

Work Day, Saturday, April 5, 2008 Participation credits can be earned by persons eight-years-old
and above for working the four hour service project. All minors must have a parent or legal guardian in attendance to sign a minor release.  Questions may be directed to the OVKA Secretary Lynda Coombs, at 513-293-6905 or via email to Lcoombs23@aol.com

With warm weather approaching, many will be heading to the track for some early testing. Upon arriving and signing in with Gary Gregg at G&J Kartway, please confirm with Gary on what configuration he is wanting you to run. Once the season gets underway the testing config will be the next raceday's configuration. It's always good to confirm this with Gary at the track.

Welcome new OVKA 2008 President Max Viney and Vice President Tim Reed. Congratulate these gentlemen to their new positions the next time you see them.

DARF's annual "Toy's for Kids" race car show is set for March 8th and 9th at Lang's Chevrolet in Beavercreek, Ohio.  As always we need workers, you will receive a "P" for every four hours of volunteering to work the show. Conatct Max Viney to lock in your work slot.

Also keep an eye out on the Exhaust Newsletter link for updated postings from OVKA's new President and VP, as well as messages from OVKA's Secritary, Lynda Coombs and  Tech Director, Randy Vermillion.

Happy 2008!
The Banquet is just 5 days away. Be sure to attend the Board Meeting held at the banquet location (Kings Island Resort) at 2pm this Saturday the 12th. This is also a reminder that there is NO TUESDAY meeting. It will be help on Saturday the 12th, as mentioned above. 

Also as a reminder the 22nd OVKA Swap Meet is coming up fast (Saturday Feb 2nd). Be sure to get your booth if you have anything to sell. And if you are hunting for a great bargin on kart parts, chassis or engine. Don't miss this opportunity.Doors open at 7am sharp.
