June 10th will be another opportunity to gain one of your two required “P’s” for year end prizes. This is NOT an open work day for everyone. You must contact Randy Vermillion or Max Viney to be added to the worker list. There are a few things that need to be completed and the work positions are limited.

Also G & J Kartway will be close the entire day of June 10th.

OVKA is in search of a person to chair the upcoming Memorial Championship Race on June 23rd & 24th. Contact Randy Vermillion if you have interest in chairing this race.

OVKA’s support of the WKA’s Gold Cup race at G&J Kartway has begun. Workers are needed for the weekend of (June 29th, 30th & July 1st). This is yet another way to gain a “P” for the season ending prizes! Contact Randy Vermillion for available worker positions and details.

The track improvement is moving along very well. The new addition is beginning to take shape and paving scheduled to begin by mid summer. Note, this addition must sit and be seasoned, so there will be no driving on the addition until the beginning of the 2008 season. This should open the track to more TaG & Shifter karts, as well as all of our other offered classes. Stay tuned for breaking news.

SIRA (Southern Indiana Racing Association) has locked in a date at G&J Kartway. Saturday September 8th SIRA will be at G&J in full force. See their website for all the details, SIRA. This race is the day before OVKA’s 13th season points race, which is on Sunday September 9th.

It looks like it is going to be a perfect weather for opening day / Points Race #1 at G&J Kartway. Just a reminder if you are going to practice on Saturday please check in with Gary Gregg at the Mill office to sign the register and waiver. Practice is $10 per kart and $5 each additional driver per kart. Also do not setup your pit for Saturday's practice in a reserved pit spot, unless you own that spot. The teams with reserved pit spots could be rolling in to setup for Sunday's race on Saturday as well. Click here for more information on pit spots and map. We will see you on the track!

MESSAGE FROM THE OVKA BOARD & PRESIDENT

Welcome to Spring (at least it should be). We wanted to post a note and keep everyone informed on this weekend’s events. The Driving School for tomorrow, Saturday April 14 is still on as scheduled with limited track time due to ever changing weather conditions. This means instruction only! More details will be delivered at the track. But, The Driving School is still on as scheduled, starting at 12noon.
 
Karting 101 on Sunday April 15 is still on as scheduled with limited track time due to ever changing weather conditions. This means instruction only! With new and old drivers and their crew, this day will be VERY important. There is a lot to go over and learn in Karting 101 to make your race day run in a smooth fashion. Everyone will learn how each OVKA race day is directed, and this is always a great time for questions. To all new crews members, please do not feel that this is a waste of time if the weather does not let your driver take to the track. There is much to learn and cover off the track, so don’t miss this great opportunity. So again Karting 101 is still on as scheduled, gates open at 7am and class starts at 9am.

We look forward in seeing everyone at the track.

The Classifieds page always seems to draw attention and has some really great deals. There has also been some updates made to current adds there. So get the deals while they are HOT.

CLEAN UP DAY is tomorrow Saturday April 7th; rain, snow or shine clean up day is still going to happen. So come out and earn one of your "P's" and help get the facility ready for the 2007 season. Food will be provided.

Reminder of the OVKA Driving School on Saturday April 14th 12 noon till 6pm at the G&J Kartway. The cost of the driving school will be $15. Instruction will be provided by Tim Reed, Don Boles & Max Viney. Karting 101 will follow on Sunday April 15th. Click here for the event schedule.

Opening Day is Sunday April 22nd Gates open at 7am and racing begins at 11:30am.
